Family in town, spending lots & lots of money, cooking, eating…oh what a joyous time of year. For some it can cause havoc to your mental health, making this time of year gloomy and depressing. So, as a Salesperson, how do you get over this slump? Are people buying your products or services or tighter with money?
This is where it gets tricky. People are Christmas shopping, but not really thinking about business to business transactions over the phone. I’ve ran into some professionals who absolutely hate making sales calls over the holidays because they feel like business owners don’t want to be bothered. This could be the case, but there may be just a few that really need your services.
One way to make sure you’re prepared no matter who’s on the other line is to make sure you’ve done your homework. Find out what they’re missing in their marketing or what they seem to be struggling with. You’d be surprised at how many business owners need what you have to offer, but now sure about how to get it.
The holidays should be a time when people are a little more friendly because there’s so much festive cheer in the air. Everywhere you go, you see Christmas lights and little elves. How could a person not be in the spirit…unless his name is Scrooge.
Enjoy the holidays and make some sales!
